Served with fresh fruit, syrup or your favourite filling, they are a wonderful choice for enjoying a family breakfast on holidays and special occasions.

These pancakes work with as many sweet or savoury combinations as you can think of, which makes them perfect for any occasion, not just breakfast. For an appetiser or a relaxed sharing-style supper, they are delicious spread with a little cream cheese and topped with some smoked salmon, sautéed prawns or anchovies. Ingredients

  • 150 g plain flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 300 ml whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. Place the eggs, whole milk and butter in a bowl and whisk with a hand whisk until well combined.
  2. Add the sifted flour and salt. Mix thoroughly until there are no traces of flour and the batter is smooth and even. Leave the batter to rest in the fridge for around 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the batter from the fridge and give it a quick stir.
  4. Heat your mini non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and lightly grease it by brushing with a little oil or butter.
  5. Fill the Zyliss nylon ladle between 1/2 and 3/4 full with batter and pour it evenly into the hot pan.
  6. Leave the batter to cook until you see the edges beginning to set and small bubbles appearing on the surface of the pancake.
  7. Gently slide your Zyliss nylon turner underneath the pancake and quickly flip it over.
  8. Cook the pancake for another 1 minute, until golden. Remove it from the pan and set aside on a plate.
  9. Repeat the process until you have used all the batter.
  10. Serve the pancakes and enjoy them with peanut butter and honey, chocolate spread and banana, red berries and Greek yoghurt or cream cheese. And if you fancy something different, try them with maple syrup and crispy bacon. You’ll see what a wonderful combination it is!
